The enemy of economic growth is wasted consumption of limited resources. That’s my mantra. So I thought this was a cool idea. PBS is soliciting examples of waste in medical care from the general public. Because the first step in eliminating waste is identifying it.

According to the Institute of Medicine, about 30 percent of U.S. health care spending (about $750 billion) was wasted in 2009 on unnecessary services, excessive administrative costs, fraud and other problems.
It’s a problem that touches nearly every American in every state, each time they interact with the health care system. That’s why we wanted to hear from the experts: you.
